Conference Fellowships
Through the support of generous donors, CAJM’s Professional Development Initiative is able to offer a limited number of competitive fellowships for attendance at the 2012 Annual Conference in Detroit, February 26-28.
Fellowships will be awarded to provide conference registration and hotel lodging (double occupancy). Recipients or their employer will be responsible for travel expenses. A maximum of one fellowship will be awarded per institution, and former recipients are not eligible to apply again.
The fellowships are intended for candidates in two categories:
- Emerging professionals working at CAJM member institutions with 2-6 years employment experience in the Jewish museum field who have not yet attended a CAJM conference
- Other employees of CAJM member institutions who have never attended the conference
Applicants must be on the staff of a CAJM Institutional Member or be a CAJM Individual Member, and must work at a CAJM member institution in some capacity.
Winning recipients will be required to attend the conference in full and to participate in follow-up and evaluation as requested.
To apply, please submit the following materials by DECEMBER 9, 2011:
- A letter (no more than two pages) discussing your current responsibilities and the value to you and your institution of your attending the CAJM conference
- A current resume
- A letter of endorsement from your director or immediate supervisor
Please email application materials to Joanne Marks Kauvar, CAJM Executive Director, at JKauvar@cajm.net. Letters of endorsement must be emailed directly by their authors, not by the applicants.
Selection and notification of awardees will be completed by JANUARY 20, 2012. If an awardee has already registered for the conference, the registration fee will be refunded. If an applicant who is not selected wishes to register after notification, the Early Bird registration discount will be extended.
