Idea Labs & Workshops

The Council of American Jewish Museums offers one-day intensive programs for those working to advance Jewish museums and the presentation of Jewish culture.

Idea Labs challenge participants to reframe the thinking around the work of Jewish museums. Participants look at shared issues from critical perspectives, engage with thought leaders, and help imagine new possibilities for the field. Previous Idea Labs have explored the role of collections in our institutions and work.

Workshops focus on skill building, problem solving, and creating models for the field. Participants come away with new approaches for their work ahead. Previous Workshops have focused on adaptive leadership.

Our most recent workshop “Creating an Address for Jewish Culture: Building Jewish Museums for the 21st Century” took place on February 28, 2018 at the National Building Museum in Washington DC, in partnership with the Museum and the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington.
