The Annual CAJM Conference brings together Jewish museum professionals, cultural leaders, scholars, artists, and colleagues from across the field to learn from one another, explore new ideas, and strengthen the relationships that sustain our work.

More than a traditional professional conference, CAJM is an opportunity to experience museums together. Each gathering takes shape around its host city, bringing participants into museums, historic sites, cultural institutions, and local communities. Through conversations, presentations, workshops, and shared experiences, we explore the opportunities and challenges facing Jewish museums today.

The CAJM Conference Experience

CAJM conferences are rooted in place. Our host cities become classrooms, inviting participants to discover local Jewish histories, encounter different approaches to museum practice, and learn directly from the institutions and communities doing the work.

Our gatherings are intentionally collegial and conversational. Alongside formal sessions, some of the most meaningful exchanges happen during museum visits, over meals, and in conversations between colleagues. We make space for honest questions, creative thinking, practical problem-solving, and the unexpected connections that become lasting professional relationships.
